A man the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) alleges is responsible for robbing 25 banks in the past three months, including one bank robbery in Santa Monica, was arrested by Torrance Police Saturday, October 30th.

The alleged bank robber, identified as 53-year-old David Lee Robinson, had been labeled the “Dreadlocks Bandit” by the FBI because he wore long, uncut braids of hair during the robberies.

Authorities believe that Robinson is responsible for a September 20th robbery at Encino State Bank in Santa Monica.

Robinson allegedly would hand bank tellers a note demanding money and threaten the tellers, saying that he had a gun and would shoot them, according to the FBI.
