A women’s retail clothing store at 1905 Ocean Front Walk in Venice — Fashions Miss USA — suffered an estimated $500,000 loss — including $300,000 for the structure and $200,000 for contents in a fire Sunday morning, March 20th.

Flames broke out at around 6:30 a.m., according to Brian Humphrey, public service officer for the City of Los Angeles Fire Department.

No injuries were reported, he said.

Firefighters from the city fire department had to use power and hand tools to gain entry through rolling steel doors and security bars on the outside of the building.

Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to a pair of adjacent two- and three-story apartment buildings.

Firefighters “confined the fire to the structure of origin and extinguished the flames in just 26 minutes,” said Humphrey.

Humphrey says the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
