The Santa Monica Fire Department is reminding drinking and dining establishments to be responsible regarding overcrowding on St. Patrick’s Day, Saturday, March 17th.
Firefighters are pointing out that:
– These establishments’ occupancy load is limited to the posted occupancy load sign issued by the Santa Monica Fire Department.
– These businesses should monitor occupancy load by having two door monitors with hand-held counters. One monitor should be responsible for counting guests entering and the other for guests who are leaving. This is a required part of the Santa Monica Fire Department occupancy regulations.
– Egress paths must be maintaied.
– Exit doors must be unobstructed.
