Local firefighters will participate in a Fill-the-Boot drive from Thursday through Saturday, June 24th to 26th, to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

The county firefighters will be at various locations in the area from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., asking motorists to drop donations into their firefighter boots.

Proceeds raised during the street-side campaign will help support MDA services and research programs, including MDA outpatient clinics for people with more than 40 neuromuscular diseases.

Firefighters have raised nearly $200 million nationwide for the MDA fight against neuromuscular diseases since 1954.
