George Drury Smith, former Argonaut associate publisher, will attend a poetry reading and book signing of his new novel, “The slant hug o’ time,” at Beyond Baroque, the literary arts center he founded.
The event is scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at Beyond Baroque, 681 Venice Blvd., Venice.
Published by Kitsune Books, “The slant hug o’ time” is the wacky fictional memoir of a narrator who tells a tale of conspiracy that stretches from his grandfather’s interest in technology (stemming from a visit to the 1893 Chicago’s World Fair) – through “time gaps” well into the 21st century.
Smith will discuss and read from his novel at the publication party.
Smith founded and for a decade directed what is now the Beyond Baroque literary arts center. He served as associate publisher and chief financial officer of The Argonaut for more than 25 years. Smith currently divides his time between Hollywood and Amsterdam.
Admission to the poetry reading and book signing is $7.
