Lela Bray Camunez, a former longtime resident of Westchester, died November 7th. She was 63.

Born January 16th, 1943, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Camunez was the only child of Cyrill and Carrie (Abbot) Bray.

Camunez was an accomplished professional rollerskater in her youth, her family said.

She lived many years in Westchester, where she worked in the mortgage business and later in real estate with her partner, Cathy Seidel.

Camunez retired to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where she had resided since 1994.

While living there she enjoyed many wonderful friendships she developed through her love of golf and tennis, her family said.

Camunez is remembered for her love of life, her extraordinary compassion for animals and her love of sports.

Services were held for her November 11th at a chapel in Lake Havasu, where her friend of 35 years, Donnele Russell, spoke about her love of life, animals and people.

Camunez is survived by her former husband, O.J., stepchildren Michael, Jody and Laura, step grandson Joshua, and her beloved pets Bo, Jazmine and Tammi.
