The free summer weekend beach shuttle service for Marina del Rey, Venice Beach, Playa Vista and neighboring communities will begin Friday, June 27th, and continue through Labor Day, Monday, September 1st.
The weekend shuttle service will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays and holidays. This season two clean-fuel shuttles will circulate hourly.
The beach shuttle service will connect with the Marina del Rey WaterBus (see story at right), which provides weekend boat transportation to seven boarding locations throughout the Marina. Both the beach shuttle and WaterBus allow for bicycle storage for passengers seeking an alternative way to travel the beach area.
There is no charge to passengers for the summer shuttle service. The WaterBus fare is $1 per person one-way, $5 for a day pass or $30 dollars for a season pass. Parking is available at Los Angeles County lots located throughout Marina del Rey for a minimal fee.
