The TAG Gallery in Santa Monica will host Art and Animals, a fundraiser featuring various works by gallery artists, to benefit The Nature of Wildworks, a wildlife care and education center in Topanga.
The event is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 at TAG Gallery at Bergamot Station, 2525 Michigan Ave. D3, Santa Monica.
The Nature of Wildworks is dedicated to providing lifetime care for over 40 non-releasable wild animals that were either injured, orphaned or people’s illegal pets. The non-profit provides a variety of programs to schools throughout Los Angeles and Ventura County, as well as to the public, to educate and engender respect for wildlife and the environment.
Participating artists include Carole Garland, Suki Kuss, Shelley Lazarus, Diane Rudnick Mann, Cheryl Medow, Joe Pinkleman, Anne Ramis, Joan Ransohoff, Della Rolle, Betty Sheinbaum, Ellen Starr, Grace Swanson and Joan Horsfall Yopung, JoAnn Aabel, Jennifer Conrad, Teryl Matkins and Mary Rudolph.
Each artist will be donating a work of fine art for the silent auction benefiting Nature of Wildworks. Artworks will includeceramics, bronze sculptures, water colors, oils, modern prints, gold frame plein air, and photography.
Visitors can purchase a raffle ticket for the chance to win a portrait of their pet by photographer Matkins. Guests can also see some of the animals from Wildworks such as Tara, the red-tailed hawk and Boxer the serval.
Parking is free and tickets are $40 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the door, or online at www.natureofwildworks.org.
