The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles held a dedication ceremony Aug. 4 for its new Marina Service Center near Marina del Rey.
Girl scouts and representatives of the organization were joined by local community members and business representatives to ceremonially open the Marina Service Center with a ribbon cutting.
The new service center at 4551 Glencoe Ave. in Del Rey will operate as the Girl Scouts’ main office for the area coastal cities.
The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles operates six other service center locations in Arcadia, Lancaster, Long Beach, Montclair, Santa Clarita, and Woodland Hills, as well as 14 program centers and four campgrounds.
The group serves more than 40,000 girls and young women in partnership with 23,000 volunteers from more than 350 communities of Los Angeles County and parts of Kern, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, a spokesperson said.
