Got Pet Food, a raw, organic and natural pet food store in Santa Monica, will hold a new year’s giveaway event for pets from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 30th at the store, 1840 14th St.

Store employees say that thousands of dollars in pet food and supplies are expected to be given away during the event. Every customer who makes a purchase will be given the chance to draw a token to get a random discount between five and 25 percent off their entire purchase.

The Kogi barbecue food truck is scheduled to stop at the store from noon to 3 p.m., and Got Pet Food employees said the store will give a free food item from the Kogi menu to all who participate in the scavenger hunt activity, as well as a free pet portrait.

Samples of all natural pet food will be given away at 17 booths. A raffle will be held every half hour and the pet food store will donate all proceeds from the silent auction to support Bichons and Buddies Rescue, which will have dogs available for immediate adoption at the event.

The monies donated will aid the rescue with its dogs’ medical bills, food and shelter. The American Red Cross of Santa Monica will also have representatives present to accept donations for earthquake relief efforts in Haiti, and Got Pet Food will match donations made up to $1,000, employees said.
