The American Legion Post 177 of Venice and the Santa Monica Elks will sponsor the Community/Celebrity Golf Tournament Friday, June 15th, at the Veterans Administration Golf Course on the grounds of the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center in Westwood.

The $100 entry donation includes entry into the tournament contests for lowest score, highest score, closest-to-the-pin and longest drive.

Checks should be made out to the Veterans Administration Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.

Golf attire is required to play in the tournament and no steel spikes are allowed on the course.

One hundred golfers are expected to play in five-man teams.

Five veterans of the Iraq War are scheduled to participate in the tournament, and celebrities are expected to be in attendance, say organizers.

Registration begins at 6 a.m. June 15th. Tee-off times are scheduled between 7 and 9 a.m.

A barbecue lunch will also be served at the Japanese Gardens.

The tournament entrance cost for spectators is $10 and the barbecue lunch for non-golfers is $10.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Iraq War veterans at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Medical Center.
