The Santa Monica Farmers Market is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a variety of events scheduled at the Good Food Festival & Conference through Sunday, Sept. 18.

The festival, which began at the Arizona Avenue farmers market Sept. 14, showcases locally and sustainably produced food and innovative leaders from the “good food” movement, event organizers said.

The event is intended to focus on regional and national issues integral to building local food systems, supporting California family farms, and educating people and families about the benefits of good food. Participants include some distinguished farmers, chefs, artisan food producers, thinkers, and food entrepreneurs.

Throughout the five-day event there will be speaker panels, chef demonstrations, exhibitor trade and consumer shows, a food policy summit, and film screening, plus a “Localicious Gala” party at the Annenberg Community Beach House.

The Good Food Festival Street Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 17 and 18 at Santa Monica High School. Tickets are $10 and include a one-day pass, admission to workshops, food sampling and activities for the entire family. Tickets can be purchased at
