In preparation for the Grammy Awards weekend, artist Oren Lavie will celebrate his Grammy nomination for “Best Short Form Music Video” with a live performance and photography exhibit at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica Thursday, January 28th.

Lavie received the nomination for his song “Her Morning Elegance.” The performance and photography exhibit are scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. at Bergamot Station, Gallery F2, 2525 Michigan Ave., Santa Monica. Admission is free and open to the public.

The event will showcase a selection of photographs by photographer Eyal Landesman that, when pieced together, create Lavie’s celebrated music video. This event also marks the launch of the new Web site for “Her Morning Elegance,” an online gallery exhibiting the 2,096 individual photographs from the video, at

The Web site allows viewers to break the motion of the video and freeze the moment as single edition fine art prints available for purchase.

“Her Morning Elegance” has been viewed on YouTube over ten million times, making it a pop culture phenomenon, a spokesperson for Lavie notes. The music video was created using stop motion photography technique with thousands of still photographs, shot and sequenced to create the feeling of motion.

After going from stills to motion, the artists said they decided to break the motion back to its still form and exhibit the individual photographs in gallery exhibitions worldwide throughout the year. Once the very last photo is sold, the video will have been broken to its pieces, spread worldwide and hung in 2,096 houses, bedrooms, living rooms and galleries, they predict.
