The Westchester Halloween Town Fair will take place from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 in the parking lot behind the Paradise Building, 9100 S. Sepulveda Blvd. in Westchester.

The free holiday-themed event will feature carnival rides and games, live entertainment, a petting zoo, face-painting, a costume contest and food vendors.

There will also be a Battle of the Badges Chili Cook-off, including original chili recipes from the local police stations and fire houses, and a judging competition.

“This is a great opportunity for us to showcase to the community the great shops and restaurants in Westchester Town Center,” said Don Duckworth, executive director of the Westchester Town Center business improvement district, which is presenting the event. “The Halloween Town Fair will be a true community event, and we expect that thousands of people will turn out to celebrate Halloween and enjoy the unique sense of community we have here in Westchester.”

The event will also include a beer, wine and margarita garden by Melody Bar & Grill as well as bounce houses. Fantastic Fig & Newton, the “psychic magician,” will roam the crowd entertaining kids and adults alike, and the Couchois Brothers Band will perform on stage with its unique brand of rock, funk and R&B.

At 4:45 p.m., the LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce and Otis College of Art and Design will announce the winners of their annual Halloween Window Painting Contest.

The fair grounds will then transform into an After-Fair Food Truck Fest and Fun event at 6 p.m., featuring some of L.A.’s best gourmet food trucks and entertainment by Pure Play Band.

Free parking for the fair will be available in the Drollinger parking structure at Westchester Parkway and Sepulveda Westway.
