The 30th Annual Holiday Home Tour, benefiting the Airport Marina Counseling Service, will showcase six homes decorated for various holidays in Westchester and Playa del Rey from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4.
Presented by the Westchester Mental Health Guild, this year’s event includes a record number of houses in celebration of the 30th anniversary. Three homes will be part of the tour in both Playa del Rey and Westchester.
The homes include a new custom-built, two-story Spanish-style view home and a renovated bungalow, both decorated for Christmas; a renovated two-story Mediterranean view home decorated for Thanksgiving; a two-story house remodeled for a growing family and decorated for Halloween; the contemporary four-story home of a world traveler decorated for New Year’s festivities around the world; and a three-story modern ocean-view home decorated for a Moroccan holiday, said organizer Candace Yip.
Following the tour, guests can attend a festive reception, from noon to 5 p.m., where they can also do some early holiday shopping at the Guilded Cage Boutique (the Guilded Cage store on Sepulveda Boulevard in the Ralphs parking lot in Westchester will be closed that day).
The Holiday Home Tour is the guild’s largest fundraiser of the year. Net proceeds from the event support the Airport Marina Counseling Service, which works to provide affordable, community-based mental health services to children, adults and families. The organization has a small paid staff that treats hundreds of children, adults and families each week.
Another important part of the clinic’s role is the clinical training of mental health therapists.
Home tour tickets are $30 (cash or check only), and children under age 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Tickets are available at the Guilded Cage, 8917-B, S. Sepulveda Blvd., Westchester, or by credit card online at http://wmhgholidayhometour2012.eventbrite.com.
Tickets will also be available the day of the sale at the Westchester YMCA Annex, 8020 Alverstone Ave., Westchester.
