The Holmes Brothers band will give a live performance at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at McCabe’s, 3101 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica.

The trio – featuring bassist/vocalist Sherman Holmes, his brother, guitarist/vocalist Wendell Holmes, and drummer/vocalist Popsy Dixon – will play songs from their latest CD, “Feed My Soul.” The band plays a mix of blues, soul, gospel and rhythm and blues.

“Feed My Soul” features the band’s harmonies, boundless energy and telepathic musicianship over the course of nine original songs – the most they’ve ever written for an album – and four songs by other writers, an event promoter said.

The Holmes Brothers have won multiple Blues Music Awards and shared stages and recordings with Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Willie Nelson, Lou Reed, Peter Gabriel and others.

The band completed “Feed My Soul” after Wendell Holmes overcame his battle with cancer, creating what they believe is their deepest, most original and satisfying album of their career. They say the songs deal with friendship, loyalty, family, aging, illness, as well as politics and the current state of the world.

Tickets to the show are $20.
