Jazz at Palms Court, a fundraiser benefiting the Venice Community Housing Corporation, will celebrate its 20th anniversary from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 at Palms Court, 743 Palms Blvd. in Venice.

The event will begin with a champagne brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by dancing and desserts from 2 to 4 p.m. The program is scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. A silent auction will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More than 150 local residents, community members and Venice stakeholders are expected to attend.

Proceeds will go toward the Venice Community Housing Corporation’s ongoing efforts to provide affordable housing, social and family support services to low-income families and at-risk youth in Los Angeles.

“Jazz at Palms Court is our way of giving something special to our donors and sponsors,” said Steve Clare, executive director of the housing corporation.

“For 20 years we’ve brought together jazz, a great crowd and a sense of social purpose.”

Musical entertainment will be provided by The Richard Glaser Band, playing a blend of intimate ballads and fresh improvisations, and the Susie Hansen Latin Band, performing Latin jazz and salsa music.

Tickets for the brunch event are $125 per person.
