Kentwood Elementary School in Westchester participated in the 21st annual Mathematics Field Day Saturday, June 3rd, hosted by the Los Angeles County Office of Education.

Kentwood Elementary students Dakota Kravetz, Kamryn Morris, Justice Tention and Jared Wexler were asked by Kentwood math coach Nancy Bake to represent the fourth grade for Los Angeles Unified School District #3.

Field Day involved 96 teams from grades four through eight rotating around stations featuring Number Sense; Measurement and Geometry; Algebra and Functions; and Statistics, Data Analysis and Probability.

The teams had eight minutes at each station to answer eight to ten questions based on mathematics standards set by the State of California.

The Kentwood team won a medal in the Statistics category.
