The Los Angeles Police Department West Bureau Summer Carnival will take place Friday through Sunday, July 13 through 15 at the corner of Windward and Pacific avenues in Venice.

This is the first time the carnival will be held in the Venice area. It is scheduled to run from noon to 11 p.m. each day. Mechanical rides and games will be set up and LAPD officers will be on hand to interact and meet with attendees. Attendance is estimated to be as high as 15,000 people per day, according to officials.

Street closures began Wednesday, July 11 at noon and will run through midnight Sunday, July 15 as follows:

Windward Avenue from Pacific Avenue to Main Street will be fully closed from July 11 until approximately 6 a.m. Monday, July 16;

Windward Circle will be fully closed until approximately 6 a.m. July 16; and

Grand Avenue will be fully closed until approximately 6 a.m. July 16.

Pacific Avenue, Venice Way and Venice Boulevard will all remain open in both directions. Residents are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes when possible, said LAPD officials. ¤
