Loyola Marymount University President David Burcham recently honored five Presidential Donors, including two from Playa del Rey, for their work to raise funds to advance the university’s educational mission.
The event recognized those who take a leadership role in helping raise money for LMU programs, scholarships and events.
Among the honorees were Playa del Rey residents Kevin and Anna May Cronin, longtime friends of the university who attend weekly mass at Sacred Heart Chapel on the LMU campus. Their connection to the university spans decades, and the couple have known many professors and leaders at the university, said an LMU spokesperson.
The Cronins are supporters of Catholic education and have been annual Presidential Donors since 1999, the spokesperson said.
“LMU is very grateful for the support from our Presidential Donors,” said Kevin Delaney, LMU’s director of annual giving. “We are honored to have them be an integral part of our university and know LMU would not be the same without their generosity.
“The leadership and volunteerism from this special group of donors will enable LMU to better serve our students, faculty and staff into our next 100 years.”
