Another jam-packed week of holiday celebration, concerts and performances awaits the local community.

ALLEGROS CAROLING — The Venice High School Allegros plan to sing Christmas carols as they stroll the Venice Beach boardwalk from Muscle Beach to Windward Avenue starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 17th.

At Windward Avenue, the Allegros will present a 30-minute musical program for the community. The program is free.

The Allegros choir has been a special project of Wendy Kornbeck, musical director at Venice High School for the past 11 years.

THE JOYS OF THE SEASON — The Concert Singers community-based choir will perform a Christmas musical program, “The Joys of the Season,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 17th, at the Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6323 80th St., Westchester. Suggested donation is $12.

MASTER CHORALE HOLIDAY CONCERT — The Hollywood Master Chorale will perform a concert of traditional holiday music and jazz, including a suite of French hand bell carols at 6 p.m. Sunday, December 18th, at the First United Methodist Church, 1008 11th St., Santa Monica. CHRISTMAS MEMORY — A staged reading of Truman Capote’s holiday classic, A Christmas Memory, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, December 17th and 18th, at the Ruskin Group Theatre, 3000 Airport Ave., Santa Monica. Tickets are $10.

Capote’s 1966 book, A Christmas Memory, tells the story of two unlikely friends as they prepare for the Christmas holiday.
