Approximately 100 students from Orville Wright and Crozier Middle Schools and Westchester High will take part in the annual Job Shadow Day at Los Angeles International Airport Thursday, Feb. 23.

The students will be exposed to “job shadowing” experiences in which they can “work” side-by-side with a workplace mentor as they go through a normal day on the job at LAX. The program is intended to provide an up-close look at how the skills learned in school are put into action in the workplace.

Of the participating schools, Orville Wright and Westchester have aviation and science magnet curriculums.

This year, students will job shadow in the fields of accounting, airfield operations, aviation services, aviation law enforcement, business administration, cargo, engineering, environmental management, human resources and information technology, airport officials said.
