Longtime Marina del Rey resident Eileen Crandall passed away peacefully Feb. 12 in Marina del Rey. She was 91.
Crandall was born in San Francisco on April 19, 1919 and was raised in San Diego.
She was the loving wife of L. LeRoy Crandall, whom she married on Sept. 20, 1941. LeRoy and Eileen moved to La Canada in 1950 and lived there for 25 years raising their four children.
The couple moved to Marina del Rey in 1975 where Eileen resided until her death. Her greatest passions were her family, and being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles and the ocean breeze.
Crandall was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Crandall Weideman, and a grandson, Michael Eagen, Jr.
Eileen is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, LeRoy Crandall of Marina del Rey; daughter Carol and husband Kenneth Upchurch of Itasca, TX; daughter Gloria and husband Tom Homewood of Las Vegas; son David and wife Donna Crandall of Los Angeles; and son-in-law Arthur Weideman of Pahrump, NV; her grandchildren Coy Upchurch, Kerry Upchurch, Jennifer Crandall, Kelly Eagen, and Jamie Eagen; her nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
As Eileen requested, there will be no memorial service.
