Representatives of the Los Angeles Clippers helped serve early Thanksgiving meals to individuals and families at the St. Joseph Center in Venice Nov. 22 as part of the organization’s 23rd annual “Teamwork at the Table” event.

Following the meal service at the St. Joseph Center’s Bread & Roses Caf/, Clippers’ alumni players, staff and season ticketholders helped distribute Thanksgiving turkeys, food baskets, clothing and books to families in attendance.

The Bread & Roses Caf/ provides homeless men, women and children with free nutritious hot meals in a welcoming environment. A St. Joseph Center spokesperson said that up to 150 meals are served to people in need each day, and the caf/ served over 24,000 meals to more than 2,000 men, women and children last year.

“Teamwork at the Table” is the culmination of the Los Angeles Clippers’ annual Food and Clothing Drive. The event is made possible through the cumulative efforts of the Clippers’ families, their fans and the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation, as well as Ralphs and Food 4 Less.
