Members of the Los Angeles Clippers helped celebrate Thanksgiving early by serving meals to homeless men, women and children during the annual “Teamwork at the Table” event at the St. Joseph Center’s Bread & Roses Café in Venice Tuesday, Nov. 23.
Clippers players and Coach Vinny Del Negro distributed Thanksgiving turkeys, food baskets, clothing and books to approximately 300 local low-income families during the St. Joseph Center event.
“Teamwork at the Table” is made possible through the cumulative efforts of the Clippers organization, its fans and the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation, as well as supermarket partner Ralphs/Food 4 Less, according to St. Joseph Center officials.
The Bread & Roses Café at St. Joseph Center’s main facility provides free hot meals to the homeless and serves up to 150 meals on a daily basis. The St. Joseph Center is a nonprofit social service agency that serves over 6,000 individuals annually.
Now in its 22 year, the “Teamwork at the Table” event is the culmination of the Los Angeles Clippers’ annual food and clothing drive.
