The Los Angeles City Council Wednesday, October 12th, named Councilman Bill Rosendahl an alternate member of the Exposition Metro Line Construction Authority, which is overseeing construction of the crosstown light rail project.
He will join Los Angeles Councilmembers Bernard Parks and Jan Perry, who are on the panel.
Currently, the Exposition Metro Line is approved for construction from downtown to Culver City.
Rosendahl said he would use the post to push for an expedited Phase Two of the project, extending the line through his district and to the beach in Santa Monica.
Construction of the full Exposition Line was a centerpiece of Rosendahl’s traffic and transportation platform during his campaign for election.
Rosendahl also submitted a motion calling on the City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation to begin work on left-turn signals in his district’s 12 most congested intersections.
Rosendahl also demanded a timeline from neighboring jurisdictions for extension of a Rapid Bus line on Wilshire Boulevard.
The Exposition Metro Line Construction Authority has oversight of all design and construction contracts for the Exposition Light Rail Line’s completion.
The Exposititon Metro Line Authority consists of seven voting members, including representatives from Santa Monica, Culver City, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, and the City of Los Angeles.
