A 21-year-old man was killed and a 20-year-old man was wounded in what police said was an apparent gang-related shooting in Westchester Tuesday, August 1st.

The 21-year-old, identified by police as Sterling Jerome Williams, and a friend had reportedly been involved in a fight with local alleged gang members in the 8700 block of Belford Avenue when the shooting occurred, at about 10:05 p.m., police said.

The suspects, described only as black men, then fled on foot.

Williams was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The 20-year-old victim was treated at a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries, police said.
