Santa Monica police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in an apartment early Wednesday, July 11.
Officers were called at about 3:25 a.m. to an apartment building in the 400 block of Broadway in Santa Monica, where a woman was heard screaming inside, Santa Monica police Sgt. Richard Lewis said.
When officers arrived in one of the units, they found a man dead with multiple stab wounds on the living room floor, Lewis said. The victim was described as a white man in his early to mid 20s.

A gathering of several people took place at the apartment prior to the attack, police said. It was unknown what prompted the stabbing but police said it appears the suspect and victim knew each other.
