Tasha Oldham, owner of My Story Inc. in Marina del Rey, has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the Outstanding Woman-Owned Small Business award by The SCORE Foundation.

Oldham is an Emmy-nominated and Directors Guild of America award-winning documentary filmmaker and producer. My Story Inc. is a boutique production company that creates short documentary-style marketing films for businesses and has expanded into servicing medium to large sized businesses including Fortune 500 companies.

SCORE, which provides mentoring and workshops to growing and new small businesses, will honor some of its most successful clients at the foundation’s annual awards ceremony Thursday, Aug. 16 in New Orleans. My Story Inc. will be recognized for demonstrating unique vision, innovation and achievement as an Outstanding Woman-Owned Small Business, according to the foundation.

“Having worked with filmmaker David Lynch and created independent documentaries for PBS and BBC, I was familiar with the creative, artistic side of filmmaking – but when I decided to start my own company, I really needed help with the business side,” says Oldham.

“Tom Patty was instrumental in helping grow My Story Inc. He taught us how to think much bigger. Tom was able to broaden our approach, and the impact our SCORE mentor had on our business is invaluable.”

SCORE Foundation President Mark Dobosz said, “Our clients and supporters inspire other small businesses as they proceed on their path to success. SCORE is honored to celebrate the people and businesses that fuel our economic prosperity and social progress.”
