Brad William Barnett, a Marina del Rey resident, died Sunday, June 6th at the age of 60.

He was born in the San Francisco Bay area on October 13th, 1949. A UCLA graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology, Barnett’s great love of the outdoors led him to become a boat captain for a number of years.

He also served as an ordained minister who performed weddings.

Barnett, who was an avid golfer, loved to travel and spend time with his puppy, Elwood.

Friends say Barnett will always be remembered for his gentle, kind heart, his loving and generous nature, and his unconditional friendship.

His desire to give was exemplified by his decision to be an organ donor, offering others a chance at a renewed life.

Barnett’s fiancée, Renee Baldwin, his brother Rick, and his many caring friends will honor his life with a memorial celebration at the Villa San Remo courtyard on Fiji Way in Marina del Rey at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 12th.
