Jazz singer Sue Raney, accompanied by the Alan Broadbent Trio, will appear in concert at the season finale of the 2009 Marina del Rey Summer Concerts at 7 p.m. Saturday, August 29th, in Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey.

The concert is presented free to the public.

Called “one of the great living interpreters of the American songbook,” Raney was signed to Capitol Records at the age of 17 and did her first album with Nelson Riddle.

She subsequently appeared on numerous TV variety shows and on “The Tonight Show” with Johnny Carson. Recently, she has appeared with the Pops conductor Richard Kaufman, performing symphony concerts in the United States.

Raney has also toured with Michel Legrand and performed in numerous jazz festivals abroad. She recently recorded a new album, “Heart’s Desire,” which is a tribute to Doris Day.
