The popular Marina del Rey WaterBus will return for summer weekend service beginning Friday, June 22 through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3.
Riders may access the WaterBus at any boarding location, where dock attendants will radio the next available shuttle. Hornblower Cruises & Events, a Marina del Rey yacht charter company that has served as the WaterBus operator since 2009, will continue to serve in this capacity, having transported over 200,000 WaterBus riders around Marina del Rey during its tenure, according to the county Department of Beaches and Harbors. WaterBus service is available Fridays, 5 p.m. to midnight; Saturdays, 11 a.m. to midnight; and Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Holiday service is available for the Fourth of July, from 11 a.m. to midnight, and on Labor Day, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Special WaterBus service will operate from 5 p.m. to midnight during the Marina del Rey Summer Concerts Symphonic Thursdays on July 12 and 26 and Aug. 9 and 23, for concertgoers who prefer water transportation to and from the classical music concerts.
Passengers may board the WaterBus at seven Marina locations:
Fisherman’s Village at 13755 Fiji Way;
Burton Chace Park at 13650 Mindanao Way;
Waterfront Walk/Fire Station #110 at 4433 Admiralty Way;
Marina (Mothers) Beach at 4101 Admiralty Way;
Dolphin Marina at 13900 Panay Way, Dock Gate #C-200;
Esprit I at 13900 Marquesas Way, Dock Gate #B-1801; and
Del Rey Landing at 13800 Bora Bora Way, fuel dock gate.
Tickets are available for purchase at all boarding locations for $1 per person, one-way. Season passes are available for purchase at Fisherman’s Village for $30.
All boarding locations are fully Americans with Disabilities Act compliant except Fisherman’s Village, where ground transportation is available to ADA compliant WaterBus boarding locations. Parking is available at Los Angeles County lots located throughout Marina del Rey for a minimal fee.
In addition to WaterBus service, the free, clean fuel, landside Beach Shuttle fleet will circulate between Playa Vista, Marina del Rey and the Venice Beach Pier on summer weekends and during the Marina del Rey Summer Concert Series.
