Culver Palms Meals on Wheels, a nonprofit organization that delivers nutritious and affordable meals to residents in need in communities such as Mar Vista, Playa Vista, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, Westchester and Venice, has received a commendation from the Culver City Council for 35 years of service.

Culver Palms Meals on Wheels has been helping to feed local community members for more than three decades with an estimated 40,000 meals delivered annually. Among the other areas where the organization delivers are Culver City, Palms, Beverlywood, Cheviot Hills, Pico-Robertson and West Los Angeles.

With the assistance of many volunteers, the organization delivers meals from Monday through Friday to persons who are confined to their homes due to illness, accident, convalescence or age.

“We are delighted to be recognized by the City Council of Culver City on our 35th anniversary,” executive director Frances Stronks said.

“Our clients frequently tell us that receiving home delivered meals is a key reason they’re able to remain in their homes.”

Culver Palms Meals on Wheels plans to proudly display its Culver City commendation at its Fiesta La Ballona booth Saturday and Sunday, August 29 and 30th, along with information on delivery service, volunteer and donation opportunities.
