Community members will get the chance to weigh in on the future of Del Rey, including one of its primary thoroughfares, at a meeting Saturday, April 28.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon in the library at Marina del Rey Middle School, 12500 Braddock Drive, Del Rey.
The emphasis will be on Centinela Avenue, but the session is part of a larger effort to develop a “vision” for Del Rey, organizers said.
The “visioning session” will begin with a PowerPoint presentation prepared by a team of urban planning students from Loyola Marymount University that has been reviewing the Palms-Mar Vista-Del Rey Community Plan, 2010 census data and other information about the current status of Centinela Avenue.
Attendees will then be asked for their views about Centinela Avenue and its role in the Del Rey community.
At the end of the session, there will be a presentation that summarizes the group’s findings, and this information will be put into a formal report for the city of Los Angeles Planning Department, organizers said.
