Musical performances, military flyovers part of annual program

The 72nd Annual Memorial Day Observance at Woodlawn Cemetery in Santa Monica will include four musical acts and two military flyovers beginning at 11 a.m. Monday, May 31st.

This year’s program will also include a keynote speech by an Air Force officer at the cemetery, 1847 14th St., Santa Monica. One of the military flyovers will feature a vintage World War II-era aircraft.

Musical acts scheduled to perform include the Sacred Nation Concert Choir; Santa Monica Oceanaires barbershop chorus; Rainbow Riders Choral Group of St. Monica Catholic High School; and the combined Lincoln and John Adams middle schools choir.

The observance is free and open to the public.

Event parking is available at the parking structure at Santa Monica College at 26th Street and Pico Boulevard and the college parking lot at the southeast corner of Pico and 14th Street. The Big Blue Bus will be providing shuttles to and from Woodlawn Cemetery from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. There is no charge for parking or shuttle.

There is no parking allowed on the grounds of Woodlawn Cemetery.
