Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) representatives have scheduled a community workshop in Westchester regarding the Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 24th at the Westchester United Methodist Church, 8065 Emerson Ave.
The Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor project team is in the process of identifying and analyzing new sites along the proposed light rail transit line for a maintenance facility.
This workshop is the first community meeting since the Metro Board of Directors unanimously adopted the light rail line as the locally preferred alternative for the Crenshaw/LAX Corridor, which will run through Westchester.
The workshop is intended to provide context on the compatibility of rail yards with other land uses such as residential and commercial, and will familiarize participants with Metro’s operations and site requirements.
