A night of mixed dance performance by visiting choreographers from across the country is coming to Venice.

The MixMatch Dance Festival is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 2 p.m. Sunday, September 21st to 23rd, at the Electric Lodge, 1416 Electric Ave., Venice. Tickets are $13.

The idea for the festival, organized by Amanda Hart and Hart Pulse Dance Company, is to intertwine several styles of dance into one show, and to put together a live dance show that can be presented in the same price range as going out to see a movie, organizers say.

Show organizer Hart started dancing at the age of nine with the Sierra Performing Arts Center in Visalia.

She has performed with Dynamics Dance Theory in the San Diego Dance Festival and produced, choreographed and appeared in her first contemporary dance show, Sugar Struggle, in Studio City.
