The Venice Meet, a monthly open-air market, will launch on the eclectic Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice Saturday, April 7.
The event is designed to bring together local craftspeople, independent musicians, and specialty food artisans and provide them with a neighborhood forum to exhibit their talents and wares.
Admission is free. The open-air events are scheduled to be held on the second Saturday of every month.
Featured at the Venice Meet are over 30 Los Angeles-based vendors showcasing their creations.
Among the participating vendors are The Rice Creamery, Ice Ice Shavie, Urban Octopus, Stay In The Light, Mukee Designs, Spoke N Wheel, Hepp’s Salt Barrel, Emmie Bean Custom Portraits, My Rebe, Time 4 Cornhole, Klai Brown, Pax Apparel, JanieXY, VintiqueLA, Coldwater Canyon Preserves and Hillcrest D/cor.
Entertainment will include live music performances by Venice-based bands The Dustbowl Revival and Leftover Cuties, as well as Song Preservation Society.
Event organizers say the Venice Meet, which has been called “The New Face of the Flea,” is at its heart about building community and capturing the independent spirit of the unique neighborhood of Venice.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.
