The Pacific Lyric Association will present Musical Paella, a program of duets, trios, quartets, quintets and ensembles of opera, American musicals and Zarzuelas (Spanish operetta) at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 16 at the Santa Monica First Presbyterian Church, 1220 Second St.
The program will feature works by Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti, Gershwin, Moreno Torroba, Sorozalba, Andrew Lloyd Webber and more.
The event will include singers/artists: Bernardo Bermudez (baritone), Bradley Chapman (tenor), Gabriela Crowe (soprano) , Teresa Hughes-Oliva (mezo-soprano), Raffi Kerbabian (tenor), Reba Lawles (soprano), Blanche Ramirez (soprano), Gabriel Reoyo (tenor), Renee Roulon-Cortez (soprano), Juventino Zapata (tenor), Carlos Oliva (tenor), and John Ballerio (piano).
The musical director is Damian Berdakin and Gabriel Oliva will serve as host.
All patrons are invited to a “Spanish Verbena” after-concert reception featuring complimentary paella sample plates, wine, beverages and dessert on the church’s outdoor courtyard, adjacent to the concert hall.
