Otis College of Art and Design in Westchester has appointed Carrie Stewart as the new vice president for Institutional Advancement.
As a member of the college’s senior administration team, Stewart will serve the areas of Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, Communications and Marketing, Development and Special Events.
Stewart, who has 23 years of experience in higher education institutions in California, began her career at her alma mater, California State University-East Bay, as the first alumni coordinator for the university.
She most recently served as associate vice president for University Advancement at California State University-Fullerton. During her nearly 10 years there, Stewart helped build the advancement division and provided oversight and direction for alumni relations, strategic communications, university sponsorships, major events and central development, an Otis spokesperson said.
“Carrie’s outstanding track record is a clear measure of her strategic capacity to achieve goals, and her consummate professionalism,” Otis President Samuel Hoi said. “We are pleased to welcome Carrie to Otis and look forward to working with her to continue to grow our successes.”
Stewart said, “Otis is well-known for being in the vanguard of innovation in education. The creativity of Otis students and their achievements as alumni are a testament to that fact.
“I’m delighted to be part of a team that is dedicated to making this extraordinary educational community possible.”
