The North Venice Little League junior division all-star baseball team captured the District 25 championship with a 5-0 victory over Santa Monica West Little League at Beverly Hills Wednesday, July 12th.

The North Venice junior division team, which includes 13- and 14-year-old players, averaged nearly 15 runs per game by scoring an impressive 104 runs during their seven games in the District 25 tournament.

In the first game of the double-elimination tournament, North Venice defeated Santa Monica East 12-2, but then lost to Santa Monica West 15-13 in the next game.

North Venice then earned a 21-0 blowout over Playa Vista and picked up two more victories over Santa Monica East and City of Angels to reach the championship against Santa Monica West.

By picking up back-to-back wins over Santa Monica West, North Venice earned the District 25 junior division title.

The team has moved on to the Section 3 tournament hosted by Holly Park Little League and it won its first game over Eastview of San Pedro Saturday, July 15th.
