Oceans Four: Mixing Media, a new ocean-themed exhibition featuring kinetic, neon art and various other media, is now on view at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica.
The exhibit includes works by four local artists – Elizabeth Comay, Candice Gawne, Dave Quick and Frank Rozasy -who all employ various media to reflect their coastal community on the shore of the Pacific.
Among the featured works are ocean-themed neon sculptures by Gawne that transform the dimmed hallways into an inviting, brightly-colored grotto, and a kinetic sculpture by Quick that employs found objects to explore the saga of surf guitar legend Dick Dale’s stolen guitar, a beach house art coordinator said.
In addition, the work of Comay and Rozasy offers a sense of oceanic life and beach culture and history, the spokesperson said.
The exhibit will be on view through March 13 in the Event House at the Annenberg Community Beach House, 415 Pacific Coast Highway, Santa Monica.
