State Sen. Jenny Oropeza (D- Marina del Rey) is asking her constituents of the 28th Senate District to devote a few hours to their community by participating in local food and blood drives in recognition of the victims of 9/11.
Oropeza, author of a state resolution to recognize the nation’s loss on Sept. 11, 2001, asks residents each year to perform community service as a way to foster stronger bonds with families, friends and neighbors.
This effort is in partnership with the Foodbank of California.
Non-perishable foods can be donated at local fire stations in the following communities through Monday, Sept. 13. Drop-off times are between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., seven days a week.
