Lisa Osborne, a newscaster on talk radio station KFI-AM 640, and Mickey Laszlo, cartoon voice-over actor and former television traffic reporter on KABC-TV Channel 7, will provide commentary to parade watchers at Burton Chace Park during the 44th Annual Holiday Boat Parade.

This year’s main event is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, December 9th, in the main channel of Marina del Rey, with a fireworks show kicking off the parade at 5:55 p.m.

Spectators can hear Osborne and Laszlo announce the parade free of charge at Burton Chace Park, 13650 Mindanao Way, Marina del Rey. Free parking is available in lots adjacent to the park.

Television actress Stefanie Powers will lead the parade as grand marshal aboard the vessel YachtSea. The parade theme for 2006 is “Water Winter Wonderland.”

“This is the most spectacular community event of the year,” said Osborne, who has announced the parade for the past few years. “A lot of people get together with friends and families for the Boat Parade to celebrate the season California-style.

“The boats are always beautifully decorated, and it’s fun for people of all ages.”

The two broadcasters once worked together as traffic reporters for several Los Angeles area radio stations.

“Over the years, we’ve helped millions of people in Southern California avoid traffic troubles,” said Laszlo. “This will be a fun opportunity to share information about a different kind of transportation — boats.”

In Los Angeles, Osborne is best known for her work as a weekend newscaster on talk station KFI-AM 640 and has held various positions at Southern California radio stations in front of and behind the microphone.

Laszlo is a television host and voice actor. Off-camera, her voice is heard on various cartoons, audio shows and Internet training programs.

For several years, she alerted Southern California to morning traffic troubles as the traffic reporter of the Emmy-award winning morning news team on Channel 7 Eyewitness News.

She has also been heard on KFI-AM 640, KLOS 95.5 FM, KGGI 99.1 FM and 94.3 KIK FM.
