Otis College of Art and Design and The Music Center are partnering for Creativity and 21st Century Learning, a forum that will examine the role of the arts in developing 21st century student learning skills and related outcomes at the college from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb 24.
This program will include a panel discussion with leading arts educators and breakout sessions focusing on the importance of the arts in education.
Speakers at the forum include Otis College of Art and Design professors Patricia Kovic, assistant professor of communication arts and integrated learning; Rob Spruijt, adjunct assistant professor of fine arts and liberal arts; Michele Jaquis, director of interdisciplinary studies and the artist, community and teaching program; and Palos Verdes Lunada Bay Elementary School Principal Joan Romano.
Moderating the forum will be Debra Ballard, interim co-provost and chair of the college’s liberal arts and sciences, and Leonardo Bravo, director of school programs at the Music Center.
