More than 500 people voted to elect seven candidates to at-large director seats on the Mar Vista Community Council Tuesday, June 26th, according to unofficial election results.
Nine candidates were vying for seven seats in the election for at-large directors held at the Mar Vista Elementary School.
With 319 votes, newcomer Bob Fitzpatrick was the top vote-getter in the election, according to unofficial results.
Albert Olson received the second-highest total with 290 votes, and current Community Council chair Rob Kadota was close behind with 288 votes.
The seven at-large directors elected and their vote tally according to unofficial results are:
Bob Fitzpatrick, 319 votes;
Albert Olson, 290;
Rob Kadota, 288;
Sharon Commins, 244;
Ken Alpern, 237;
Colin Hatton, 223; and
Bill Scheding, 198.
Community Council members said the council expects to install the new at-large directors and vote for officers at the “Mar Vista Celebrates Event,” which will recognize the 80th anniversary of Mar Vista Sunday, August 5th.
