Models Passport 05, an annual charity fashion show that has benefitted HIV/AIDS research for the past 23 years, is coming to the Santa Monica Airport Barker Hangar, 3021 Airport Ave., Santa Monica.

Macy’s Passport 05’s live gala evening begins with a V.I.P. cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. and a live celebrity auction and fashion show gets under way at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 29th.

General fashion show admission tickets are $75.

The celebrity-studded fashion show is comprised of picks from Macy’s fall collection of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel. Celebrity guest of honor red carpet arrivals for begin at 5:30 p.m.

Over the past 23 years, Macy’s Passport has raised about $20 million to benefit HIV/AIDS research, care, prevention and education programs, according to organizers. Passport 05 funds raised will go to support vaccine research, community-based prevention education, care and advocacy programming.

In Los Angeles, charity group beneficiaries include AltaMed HIV/AIDS Health Services, Being Alive People with HIV/AIDS Action Coalition, HALSA (HIV & AIDS Legal Services Alliance), PALMS Residential Care, Project Angel Food and UCLA AIDS Institute.

The Macy’s yearly Passport fashion show charity event began in 1980 and has been held as a fundraiser for AIDS/HIV research groups since 1988.

Macy’s Passport fashion show events are also held annually in San Francisco.
