“An Introduction to Pet First Aid and CPR” is to be the subject of a presentation at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 11th, by Denise Fleck in the Santa Monica Main Library Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium, 601 Santa Monica Blvd.
Fleck became interested in the life-saving skills of pet first aid and CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) after one of her own pets suffered a serious injury.
Driven by a desire to help her beloved pet in any way possible, Fleck says she sought formal training on pet health and now shares that knowledge with other pet owners through her informative workshops.
Pet owners will learn such skills as how to find their pet’s pulse and other vitals, rescue breathing and CPR, bandaging and splinting techniques, how to administer medications, as well as simple everyday tips and tricks to keep a pet happy and healthy.
The event is free and open to the public. Auditorium seating is limited and on a first arrival basis. Information, (310) 458-8600 or www.smpl.org/.
