The G2 Gallery in Venice is presenting two exhibits featuring budding practitioners in the field of photography: Emerging IV and Friend or Fo-to.
The exhibits, which premiered Nov. 8, will be held through Dec. 31 at the G2 Gallery, 1503 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice.
Emerging IV is the G2 Gallery’s fourth annual exhibition of images by early career photographers working with the subjects of nature, wildlife and landscape.
A gallery spokesperson says the juried exhibition expresses G2’s environmental mission because the selected artists have demonstrated their commitment to conservation through their artistic and personal choices. The participating photographers are Neil Losin, Sheri Mandel and Christopher Taylor.
Friend or Fo-to chronicles the travels of supporters of the G2 Gallery, photographers Beverly Houwing and Mark Leevan. The photologues document Leevan’s encounters with marine life and Houwing’s expeditions in Africa and elsewhere.
All proceeds from art sales will go to the G2 Gallery’s third annual 12 Stockings, 12 Days of Christmas fundraiser. The 2011 beneficiaries include Audubon California, Catalina Island Conservancy, Delta Society, Earthjustice, Environmental Media Association, Friends of Ballona Wetlands, Heal the Bay, National Wildlife Federation, Natural Resources Defence Coucil, Surfrider, Wildlife Alliance, and World Wildlife Fund.
