The photography exhibit Child’s Play will be displayed on the historic walls of the merry-go-round building at the Santa Monica Pier from Tuesday, April 3 to May 28.
The exhibit aims to explore the fun, awkward, whimsical, magical memories and moments of childhood, and involves the collaboration of three local photographers: Ellen Freyer, Judy Raffel and Eileen Rapke.
A reception for the photographers is scheduled from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 15. The exhibit is open to the public and children are welcome.
“We are thrilled to bring our Child’s Play exhibit to the world-famous Santa Monica Pier inside the merry-go-round building,” said Raffel, one of the exhibitors. “Come and revive your own childhood moments through the many images of children’s spontaneity, freshness, emotions and creativity in play.”
The exhibit is open during regular merry-go-round business hours, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The carousel is closed on Tuesdays.
The pier is open year-round, and parking is available for a fee on a first come, first served basis.
